Feb 5th 2021 · Day 36
Start by reading...
To explore ‘the unsearchable riches of Christ’ (Ephesians 3:8) in a few sentences is impossible, but I want us today to consider one aspect of it. We read in verse 16 ‘that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being’.
As I read this I became very aware of the issues regarding mental health that are becoming an increasing problem. People have been feeling discouraged, disappointed and even depressed because of the consequences of lockdown and the coronavirus pandemic. Uncertainty regarding the future and isolation regarding the present are the twins no one wants in their family, especially if we live alone.
For those who have put their faith in Christ, this is a wonderful opportunity to have not only the knowledge of the riches to be found in Jesus Christ, but to experience the substance; that we may not just know about, but actually know ‘the breadth and length and height and depth’ of the love of Christ (v. 18). Even though this surpasses our ability to understand, it does not limit the availability of the love of Christ and the fullness of its riches to become our strength.
Our faith in Christ is not based on our ability to understand, but is dependent on what we believe.
If you are not a Christian and you are seeking for this inner peace and strength that we are reflecting on today, than open up your heart, invite Jesus in and He will do the rest.
Pause and reflect: Do you know the love of Jesus, deep in your heart? Ask Him to reveal Himself to you today. He can give you the peace and inner strength – the ‘unsearchable riches’ of His love.
