Start by reading...
‘Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Write this as a memorial in a book and recite it in the ears of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven’ (Exodus 17:14, my italics).
Joshua has been on the battlefield, in combat. That battle involved more than just a hand-picked army. Moses was on the hill; when he kept his hand raised, Israel were winning, and when he dropped his arms, the enemy were winning.
So if they wanted the win, they needed some help… enter Aaron and Hur. When Moses grew tired, they held his arms up.
Significant wins come in our lives when others are involved. You don’t have to look far as a believer in Christ, because you are part of the body of Jesus (Ephesians 4:16). In that body there are people ready to take their place in helping you win. You have to trust that truth.
After this win, Moses made sure it was recorded and recited. Why recite something like this? Because the battles we face are not just about us. They impact generationally. What you give your ear to will affect what you put your hand to.
Take responsibility for who has your ear and what’s being put in place now for what lies ahead. Today’s mindsets can so often determine tomorrow’s outcomes. Joshua would lead the nation, face many battles and what or who had his ear would affect the outcome.
Pause and reflect: You are positioned in victory and therefore for victory. How? Because Jesus won, for you and for me. His death and resurrection conquered it all. Always remember this win. Keep reciting it to yourself and to others. Give Him your ear.
